Lutron: Teaching Smart Lighting in the Local Professional Language
At SRP, we help Lutron communicate with professional audiences across the Americas and Europe through marketing, educational, and technical content developed for each regional market. Working in Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and French, we combine cultural understanding, instructional design, and deep familiarity with Lutron’s products. When Lutron needed a RadioRA 3 training program in Canadian French (français québécois), they trusted us not simply to translate or adapt a pre-existing course, but to create a complete eLearning experience from the ground up.
Effective training isn't about presenting information. It's about transforming information into knowledge professionals can understand, remember, and apply.
The Challenge
Teaching Complex Technology in the Language Professionals Use Every Day
The challenge was to transform a large body of product knowledge (including smart dimmers, keypads, processors, wiring principles, configuration, and installation) into a learning experience that felt logical, engaging, and easy to follow without sacrificing technical accuracy.
At the same time, every script, interface label, and instruction needed to sound natural to professionals working in Canadian French, respecting local terminology, industry conventions, and the unique balance between French and commonly accepted English technical expressions.

Solution
Building the Learning Experience From the Ground Up
We conceived, structured, wrote, designed, and produced the RadioRA 3 eLearning program from the ground up.
Rather than adapting an existing course, we began with Lutron’s product knowledge, technical documentation, and learning objectives, organizing them into an instructional sequence that guides participants from fundamental concepts to practical system application.
Our work included:
Instructional strategy and course architecture, organizing learning objectives into a logical sequence that guides professionals from core concepts to practical system application.
Original content development and Canadian French scriptwriting, transforming complex technical information into clear explanations, practical examples, and natural professional language.
Narrated video lessons and interactive learning experiences, combining room-by-room exercises, installation scenarios, knowledge checks, and hands-on product interactions.
Technical validation, ensuring product names, wiring terminology, interface labels, and system instructions remained fully aligned with Lutron's standards and best practices.
A consistent visual and instructional language, integrating narration, graphics, navigation, and interactive elements into one cohesive learning experience.
Every lesson was designed to simplify complex concepts while maintaining the precision expected by professionals specifying and installing Lutron systems.
The result was a cohesive learning environment where narration, visuals, interactions, and technical content worked together seamlessly.
Market adaptation done right is invisible. Learners should feel the course was created specifically for them, not translated from somewhere else.
Results
Expanding Lutron's Global Learning Ecosystem

The project delivered:
Beyond a single course, the project strengthened SRP's ongoing partnership with Lutron across multilingual education and communications.
Today, we continue supporting the brand through eLearning, marketing, technical content, and training materials in Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, and French, helping Lutron communicate not only its products but its expertise in every market.
